Episode #69 - April 3, 2021
David Slayton Vs. Kasey Kash
The Start: The fans started to boo Kasey Kash as he made his way out to the ring. He moved quickly and walked around the ring as he smacked the apron before rolling in. He jumped to his feet and readied as the boos became cheers as David Slayton hit the stage. He threw up a fist as pyro popped behind him. Slayton made his way to the ring as he jawed at Kash. He jumped up to the apron and climbed into the ring. Kash was immediately on Slayton as the bad blood between the two had been building. Slayton and Kash went blow for blow with hard punches. Slayon caught Kash with a stiff uppercut and staggered him backwards. Kash stepped up and hit Slayton with a back elbow to the face and then clotheslined him over the top rope to the floor below. Kash charged to the corner and dove to the outside with a spaceman plancha! Kash pounded his chest and moved around the ring as the referee was counting before rolling back in.
The Match: Slayton made his way to the ring and Kash stomped on him as she climbed in. Slayton fought his way up to his feet and ducked a discus lariat. Kash was grabbed from behind and hit with a German suplex. Slayton rolled Kash to his feet and lifted him before slamming him down with a double underhook backbreaker. Slayton was able to slow down the pace of the match at this point and started working in rest holds and worked the neck and shoulder of Kash. Slayton had Kash locked in a crossface chickenwing. Kash tried to fight out but it was locked in tight. Kash was near the corner and kicked off the middle rope and slammed backwards onto Slayton as they hit the mat. Kash and Slayton started to get to their feet and locked up. Slayton looked for a suplex but Kash blocked it. He jumped up and caught Slayton with a knee to the face and then hit a spinning backfist before going right into a ripcord kappo kick!
The End: Slayton staggered but didn’t fall. Kash jumped up and hit him with a flatliner and rolled into a cover for two. Kash got to his feet and talked to the referee about the count. Kash turned and looked for the Aussie Knee Party (Shining Wizard) and Slayton ducked it. Slayton tried to roll Kash up with a school boy pin but Kash kept rolling through. Slayton popped up to his feet and looked for the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music) but Kash was able to side step it. Kash looked for a ripcord knee strike but Slayton countered into a small package for three!
WINNER: David Slayton via pinfall @ 15:42
The Aftermath: Kash was in shock as Slayton popped up to his feet in celebration. Kash got in the face of the referee before we cut away to a shot backstage. The fans buzzed as Slayton and Kash stood watching the screen. A car pulled up and came to a stop. The driver door opened and someone in a full suit stepped out but was shielded by a ski mask. He fixed his suit jacket and started to walk. The camera followed as it became clear he was heading to the ring. He finally made it and stepped through the curtain and looked down at Kash and Slayton, the new #1 contender to the National Championship. He removed his ski mask to reveal AJ Jenkynx! AJ smiled and pointed down to both men and simply said "'I'm not dead yet." as the fans buzzed.
Logan Burgess Vs. James Edwards
The Start: Logan Burgess came out first and quickly made it to the ring. The striker moved around the ring and started to throw punches on the top post to loosen up. "My Name is Human" by Highly Suspect kicked up as James Edwards came out to the stage. The “Burning Heart” made his way down slowly as he took in the Warehouse and the fans in attendance. He climbed the steps and looked at Burgess before climbing in. The announce team ran down a few of Edwards’ accolades before coming to Empire Wrestling, including their sister company OATH. The two men were vastly different in size but had a similar style in the ring.
The Match: The two tried to feel each other up as they moved around the middle of the ring. Burgess caught Edwards with a forearm and Edwards came right back with a hard chop to the chest. Edwards hit second chop and then a punch. Burgess tried to whip Edwards into the ropes but Edwards countered with a knee in the gut. This took the wind right out of Burgess and allowed Edwards to deliver his Kill Up (Shining Wizard to a standing opponent)! Burgess was shaken up by the strike and was having a hard time getting back to his feet as Edwards started to wear down his opponent with more strikes. Edwards tried to lock in a triangle choke but Burgess used his strength to lift him and slam him to the back. Edwards started to get back up but was hit with a big boot to the face. Edwards charged and ran into a toss up Samoan drop. They both got to their feet and Burgess delivered a bridged German suplex for a two count. Burgess pulled his opponent up and sent him hard into the corner to get some room to breathe. Burgess charged and hit a big corner clothesline and then followed it up with a bulldog. Burgess got to his feet and readied for the Heart Breaking Ending (V-Trigger) but Edwards was able to dodge it with a roll.
The End: Edwards came off the ropes and delivered High Heat (Springboard Busiaku Knee)! Burgess fell to a knee which allowed Edwards to deliver Wildfire (Spin Kick followed by a Roundhouse Knee) and fell onto Edwards with a cover for three.

Nightmares
The Angle: Sara Logan informed everyone that, in the order of fairness to the World Championship match on Saturday the 10th, Casey Grey was given the night off. This way, there was no way she could prove bias about having to compete but not Lacy Nelson. With that said, Casey prepared a video for Lacy and it aired next.
LADDER MATCH
Kayla Taylor Vs. Harper Blake Vs. Noavrra Vs. Meg Coleman Vs. Alicia Monroe Vs. Jason Evans
The Start: Above the ring was a briefcase which held the contract for the Primetime Championship match at Relentless. Ladders were scattered around the ring as the six competitors were ready to battle. Taylor and Blake immediately started to fight as Noavrra and Coleman did the same. Evans and Monroe looked over at each other and then rolled outside and grabbed a ladder before sliding back into the ring. They both set up quickly and started to climb as the other four competitors took notice and pulled them both down.
The Match: The brawl ensued as one of the ladders got tossed out of the ring and the other was set up in the corner by Blake. She turned and Coleman flipped her inside out with a clothesline. Blake was up and speared into a corner by Coleman. Coleman speared her shoulder into Blake repeatedly before taking a few steps back. She charged and ran right into a boot to the face! Noavrra grabbed Coleman and powerbombed her onto the ladder in the corner! Taylor grabbed Noavrra from behind and hit the Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes)! Taylor and Blake started to brawl again before Monroe came off the top rope with a crossbody on them both. Monroe exited the ring and grabbed another ladder and tossed it in. She got back in and started to set up the ladder. She started to climb but Evans came springboarding off the top rope and landed on the other side of the ladder and climbed quickly. He got to the top and slammed Monroe’s head off the top step. He flipped over her and delivered a sunset flip powerbomb! Evans and Monroe were down and Blake was the first one up and alone. She started to climb but Noavrra was there and pulled her down and then slammed her to the mat with a belly to belly slam. The Yeet Machine was started up as Noavrra started to belly to belly suplex everyone in the ring; Monroe, Blake, Taylor, and then Evans. She stood and turned right into Coleman’s Superwoman Punch! Noavrra stood and took a second punch that made her stagger into the ropes. Coleman clotheslined her over the top rope and was fired up. Coleman started to climb the top of the ladder and was grabbed by her leg by Blake. Blake was kicked in the face and fell into the ropes. Blake charged and kicked the ladder and forced it to tip over, causing Coleman to come crashing hard to the mat.
The End: Evans came from the apron and hit Blake with Seeing Stars (Slingshot DDT). Taylor tried to set up for Redemption (Final Cut) but Evans fought out and countered with Flatliner (Cutter). Noavrra hit Taylor with a running senton and got right to her feet. Evans came charging over but ran into a catch uranage! Noavrra pulled him back up to his feet and then slammed him onto the ladder with a scoop slam. She jumped up and hit Down With The Thiccness (Seated senton) onto the Evans on the ladder! Monroe was back in the ring with another ladder and smashed Noavrra in the face with it! Monroe set up her ladder and started to climb and was at the top. She was having trouble getting the briefcase off and was hit in the back with a punch as Coleman was up. Coleman got under Monroe and pulled her off the ladder with a powerbomb but Monroe started to battle with hard right hands. Coleman tried to dump Monroe over the top but Monroe countered with a hurricanrana over the top. Monroe turned and was rocked with Blake’s Future Sight (V-Trigger)! Blake hit Monroe with a second for good measure and started to climb. Noavrra and Coleman were both trying to get back in the ring as Blake was able to unhook the briefcase for the win.
WINNER: Harper Blake @ 19:33
The Aftermath: Blake sat on top of the ladder for a minute and processed the win as she celebrated and screamed. She came down from the ladder as Coleman kicked the steps on the outside in frustration. A shot of Marilyn Lee Cross watching backstage as shown as Blake celebrated to end the show.
