Episode #90 - August 20, 2022
Scott Parker: The dust has settled from Next Level: Victorem and, folks, the fact that Daniel Daemon is walking around with a briefcase holding a contract for a World Championship match whenever he wants HAS to be on everyone’s mind. One of the most dominant competitors in the history of Empire Wrestling can become champion with the snap of his fingers.
Gemma Foster: It has to be on the mind of our champion, Tia Santos. She pinned Casey Grey in the triple threat match, Scott, and we’re set to hear from the third competitor in that match here tonight. AJ Adams is in the building with a lot on his mind.
Scott Parker: There’s a new Extreme Champion and a new Spartan Champion in what were both amazing matches. The Spartan Champion, Martin West, defends his newly won title tonight in our main event against Harper Blake!
Gemma Foster: There’s so much going on tonight, Scott! We can’t forget about the long awaited return to Empire Wrestling of Helena Handbasket and a debut for Chelsea LeClair!
Hanako Vs. Jason Evans

A quick series of arm drags from Hanako had Evans dizzy which she followed up with a tilt-a-whirl DDT! Hanako had a cover but could just get one before Evans popped up. Come, Come, Little Dove
Deep in the halls of the EW Warehouse the lights were dimmed as the camera panned around. Our new Extreme Champion, Manic, played with her hair. The title was around her waist as she tilted her head and looked into the camera.
Manic: Come, come, little dove. Hear our call and accept us. We tried to help you see it once before but you fought us. With us, you’re better. We can help make you whole again, little dove.
Behind Manic were photos of Lacy Nelson stuck to the wall. She turned and touched one of them and laughed.
Manic: You’re broken. Let us fix you.
Gabrielle Montgomery Vs. Chelsea LeClair
The fans were treated to the debut of LeClair as she came out to the ring to a nice cheer as many recognized her from her current run in BWF. She posed in the ring before Montgomery came out next. Stills of her in action for the Primetime Championship were shown picture in picture as she came close to winning numerous times. The two stood in the ring and locked up in the center to kick things off. LeClair locked in a hammerlock behind Montgomery who had to hit a snapmare to get free. Montgomery started to use her fists with precision to the sides of LeClair. The two locked back up and LeClair tripped her up with a drop toe hold and locked in a bow and arrow. Montgomery didn’t submit and slowly had to slip feet and was able to turn herself and roll up LeClair for one.
Scott Parker: Some good back and forth action here between these two competitors.
LeClair pulled Montgomery in for a side headlock and drove an elbow into the back of her head. Montgomery pushed LeClair off and whipped her into the ropes and she went up and over. Montgomery charged and ran into a forearm to the face. LeClair jumped up and hit a springboard into the ring with a picture perfect crossbody! WINNER: Chelsea LeClair via submission @ 12:39
Still Alive
“Lights Out” by POD kicked up and the crowd popped for the arrival of AJ Adams. He wasted no time at all as he came through the curtains and stormed down to the ring. He rolled under the ropes and called for a microphone. The music cut out and Adams found the nearest camera and looked right into it as he spoke.
AJ Adams: Tia Santos. This isn’t over. Walking out of Next Level: Victorem didn’t come with the World Championship like I had planned. It’ll sound cliche but I had that match won. In the end it was you pinning someone else that let you walk away with the title. That’s why I’m standing out here tonight and I’m demanding a one on one match with you.
The crowd roared as Adams was fired out. He moved around the ring and jumped onto the second turnbuckle and faced the crowd. He shouted out “BRING. ME. SANTOS.” and had the crowd cheering as he pumped his arms.
Helena Handbasket Vs. Gio DeLuca
It was time for Helena Handbasket to make her return to Empire Wrestling and she came to the ring first with a nice pop from the crowd. As she moved around the ring to cheers, Gio DeLuca cut off her music. He cut a quick promo about being overlooked again while EW brings back someone who couldn’t cut it their first time around. Handbasket smacked the microphone out of his hand to a cheer from the fans and the two started to exchange blows. DeLuca looked for a spiking DDT but she pushed him off and he landed on his feet. DeLuca changed but Handbasket connected with a neckbreaker. They were both up and she connected with an arm drag. She pulled DeLuca up and sent him into the corner and charged with the Chaos Box (High knee, usually to a cornered opponent)! DeLuca started to stagger out of the corner and she spun him around for the Feck Off (Bull Hammer) and this thing was over as she covered.
WINNER: Helena Handbasket via pinfall @ 3:01
Danny Rose Vs. Austin Scott Vs. Aislin Finn

Rose looked at the downed Scott and delivered Subscribe To My OnlyFlips (Second Rope Moonsault-into-Standing Shooting Star Press combo)! Rose covered and picked up the pinfall!
WINNER: Danny Rose via pinfall @ 18:44
Bootstraps
After a rundown of the night so far the fans were treated to “Come and Get It” by I Prevail starting to play. Lacy Nelson came out to the stage and waved to the crowd as she made her way down to the ring in her street clothes. He climbed up inside and Kevin Olson was standing inside with a microphone. The music came to an end as the interview was set to start.
Kevin Olson: Lacy you asked for some time in front of the fan here tonight and I can only guess it’s to address your recent struggles.
Lacy has to take a deep breath before speaking into the microphone.
Lacy Nelson: That’s right, Kev. I’m here to say it’s okay to ask for help. I realized I was starting to struggle again leading into Next Level and I made sure that I got the help I needed that weekend before it became too much. Sure, I feel like I let a lot of people down that night but I know that I can bounce back. Right? I keep telling myself to grab onto my boot straps and pull my boots on right and keep fighting. It’s the only thing I know how to do. While I know I have a long way to go and not every day will be perfect, I have to try and believe.
The laughter of Manic starts to echo throughout the arena as Lacy quickly starts to look around. Manic appears on the jumbotron and smiles.
Manic: Little dove, come find us. Let us help fix you. You used to be so strong and now you’re a broken little thing. Everyone has left you; FM, Xaria… yes we know about that fling… Your friends, family… they all abandon you, little dove. All except us. We are still here and we are telling you to come home.
The fans boo at Manic as Lacy shakes her head and covers her ears, screaming at Manic to go away.
Manic: No one loves you, little dove.
Lacy Nelson: SHUT UP!
The lights go out and Manic’s laughter is heard for a moment before the lights come back up and Lacy Nelson is left standing in the ring, taking deep breaths to calm herself.
Time for Prime
After a commercial break we came back to see Kevin Olson backstage with Danny Rose. Olson asked Rose what was next for him after failing to capture the Victorem Ladder Match contract. Danny thought it over for a few moments and said “it might be time to go Primetime…” and winked before walking off.
