Episode #89 - July 16, 2022
Tia Santos Vs. Alicia Monroe
The show kicked off with Monroe making her way to the ring as she was set to face off against the World Champion. The lights went out and slowly came up as Santos made her way to the stage as her music played. The World Champion showed off the title as she climbed into the ring and was ready to go quickly. The two competitors locked up and exchanged arm drags and would roll to their feet. Monroe looked for a wrist lock but Santos performed a no hand cartwheel and flipped around before pulling her in to connect with a lungblower. Santos had control of the match as she landed a series of strikes before taking Monroe down with a reverse Russian leg sweep on her knee. Santos made her way to the top and looked for a meteora but Monroe was able to dodge. Santos rolled to her feet and Monroe delivered a German suplex! Monroe pulled Santos in as she stood and then delivered Freebird (Running Bulldog). She looked down to Santos and started to make her climb to the top rope. Santos pushed her foot off the top rope as she fell into a seated position on the top rope. Santos climbed up and set herself up and connected with a spider German suplex off the ropes! Santos sat back up and was right in position to deliver a big coffin drop! She covered and picked up two as Monroe was just able to kick out.
Scott Parker: A close kick out there from Alicia. The Champion has her reeling right now!
Santos started to pull Monroe up but Monroe delivered a few hard punches and sent her into the corner. Monroe charged and connected with a clothesline and started to run off the ropes as Santos stumbled out. Monroe was met with a Spanish Fly in the middle of the ring! Santos pulled Monroe up to her feet and delivered a tornado DDT. Santos started to pull Monroe up and set her up for Beso de Muerte ([Kiss of Death] Dream DDT) but Monroe was able to get free and rolled Santos up from behind for two. Santos popped up to her feet and Monroe looked for a lariat but Santos bent back to duck and hit Danze de los Muertos ([Dance of the Dead] Bends back using her flexibility and she bends back up and goes for a spinning back kick which the opponent usually ducks. As they come up, however, Tia’s kicking leg comes down and she nails them in the face with a Chick Kick, finishing with a dancing spin with her arms out.) Santos pulled Monroe up quickly and hit Beso de Muerte!
Gemma Foster: THE KISS OF DEATH!
Santos rolled Monroe over and covered, picking up the victory.

Santos rolled out of the ring and snatched the EW World Championship from the timekeeper’s table and made her way to the back.

OVER THE TOP ROPE BATTLE ROYAL
Harper Blake Vs. Kayla Taylor Vs. Gabrielle Montgomery Vs. Jason Evans Vs. Gio DeLuca Vs. Aislin Finn Vs. Josh Williams Vs. Austin Scott
The 8 competitors stood in the ring and circled each other as the bell rang. Blake and Taylor immediately started to argue as the former tag team partners stood face to face. The others battled around the ring as the fans cheered on the action. Blake finally hit Taylor with a headbutt as their action started to spill around the ring as they fought along the ropes. DeLuca looked like he was about to be tossed by Scott but he was able to grab onto the ropes and wrapped himself around them. Evans hit Williams with a standing Spanish Fly and rolled to his feet. On one side of the ring we saw Montgomery hit a shotgun dropkick to Williams that sent him flying backwards into a corner. He tried to charge at her and she caught him with a stiff uppercut and then a clothesline to send him over the top and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Josh Williams
Finn was trying to get Scott over the top rope when DeLuca ran over and dumped her over the top and both Scott and Finn landed on the apron. Scott and Finn battled with blows. DeLuca went to grab Finn by the hair but pulled him over the top and all three were on the apron, DeLuca in the middle. Scott ran at him, connecting with Straight Whiskey (Running Lariat) and Finn hit a roundhouse kick. DeLuca stood there for a moment before falling over to the floor as Finn and Scott climbed into the ring out of a respect.
ELIMINATED: Gio DeLuca
Evans and Blake were now exchanging blows and Taylor had Montgomery halfway over the top ropes as she held on. Blake jumped up and hit Evans with the Future Sight (V-Trigger)! Blake quickly turned and hit Finn with Future Sight! Blake then turned and hit Scott with one! Blake was fired up before she hit Taylor with Future Sight! Blake charged at Montgomery and was lifted up and over the top but landed on the apron. Montgomery whipped Taylor towards Blake but Blake dropped down and pulled the ropes down, sending Taylor up and over to the floor!
ELIMINATED: Kayla Taylor
Montgomery charged Blake and was set to knock her off the apron but Blake caught her with a forearm to the face and climbed back inside. We got a shot of Finn hitting Evans with the Warp Spasm (Over Shoulder Back Kick) that sent him leaning against the ropes. Scott came rushing over and hit Straight Whiskey and sent his former Dishonor member over the top!
ELIMINATED: Jason Evans
Montgomery quickly dumped Scott over the top and eliminated him!
ELIMINATED: Austin Scott
We were down to the final three as Finn, Blake, and Montgomery collected themselves for a moment. The three met in the center of the ring with wild punches as the fans cheered them on. Montgomery hit Finn with a hard uppercut and Blake hit Finn with the Future Sight. Finn stumbled backwards before hitting both with a double clothesline! Finn lifted Blake up and dropped her with a back suplex. Montgomery had Finn measured up for a dropkick but Finn dodged it. Finn waited and looked for a running crossbody on both competitors but Blake and Montgomery caught her and dumped her over the top together.
ELIMINATED: Aislin Finn
Blake quickly grabbed Montgomery and sent her over the top but she held on! Blake hit Future Sight and Montgomery started to fall but grabbed the middle rope and held on. Blake looked for another Future Sight but Montgomery slipped under the bottom rope and through the legs of Blake. Blake turned and tried to lift Montgomery for a Falcon Arrow but Montgomery caught her with a knee in the face and was put down. Montgomery delivered her Double D-DT (Future Shock DDT)! Montgomery pulled Blake up and dumped her over the top rope for the victory!

Scott Parker: Montgomery is going on to face Marilyn Lee Cross at Next Level: Victorem!
Gemma Foster: What a showing by Harper Blake though, Scott. She was determined to get another shot at Cross.

Marilyn Lee Cross Vs. Hanako
We got a shot of Gabrielle Montgomery taking off her elbow pads in the back as she prepares to watch this next match. Hanako came out first to a nice pop from the fans before the Primetime Champion, Marilyn Lee Cross, made her way out to the stage. The two were in the ring as we were set for the match to start. Lee pulled Hanako in but Hanako pushed her into the ropes. Lee came back with a shoulder block and ran the ropes. Hanako was up and jumped over Lee and caught her with an arm drag. Lee popped up and ran into another arm drag but Lee did a cartwheel and readied herself. Lee rocked Hanako with a Superman forearm and then a tiger suplex. Lee and Hanako got to their feet and Lee lifted Hanako up for Do A Barrel Roll (Cartwheel Death Valley Driver) but Hanako was able to get herself free. Hanako drove Lee into the mat with a float over DDT. Hanako hit the ropes and jumped onto Lee with a running senton. Hanako pulled Lee up to her feet and sent her into the corner. Hanako charged but ran into a big boot to the face. Lee jumped to the second turnbuckle and took Lee down with a meteora! Hanako stumbled to her feet and Lee delivered Catch Your Breath (Striking Spear)! Lee went into a cover and Lee kicked out at two.
Scott Parker: So close, Gemma! Hanako with a kick out there against the Primetime Champion.
We had another look at Montgomery backstage watching with intensity. Lee started to pull Hanako up to her feet but she started to battle back. Hanako landed strikes and kicks and countered a lariat into her Majikkuawā (Black Widow)! Lee fell to a knee as Hanako screamed. The fans were roaring but Lee wouldn’t tap out. Lee dug deep and got to her feet and took two steps forward and was able to grab the ropes to cause a break. Hanako quickly hit a blue thunder bomb! She was fired up and grabbed Lee. Hanako tried to pull Lee back to the center of the ring but Lee rocked Hanako with the Hand of God (Spinning Backfist). Lee hit the ropes and rocked Hanako with John Wilkes Boot (Running Yakuza Kick to the back of the head)! Hanako crumbled before Lee covered for a pinfall.
WINNER: Marilyn Lee Cross
Gemma Foster: A hard fought fight as Hanako just came up a little short tonight against our Primetime Champion.
Scott Parker: Say her name.
Lee grabbed the Primetime Championship and held it high as we cut away.

“Reverend” Martin West Vs. Kaito Hirano
The two strikers stood across from each other in the ring. Hirano swung kicks at West as West quickly backed up. West caught Hirano with a jab but then was hit with a kick to the side of his leg. The two went back and forth with strikes before Hirano sent him into the ropes. Hirano charged but was taken down with a Lou Thesz Press! West landed a series of hard blows that stunned Hirano. West pulled him to his feet and spiked Hirano’s face off his knee and then flipped him over it as he drove his knee into his gut with a kitchen sink. Hirano stumbled up and was pulled in as West started driving knees into his gut and chest. Hirano reversed with a jawbreaker that staggered West backwards but he came right back with Absolution (Rebound/Pendulum Lariat)! West covered but Hirano just kicked out at two.
Gemma Foster: West is really taking it to Hirano.
West and Hirano got to their feet and Hirano slipped behind West and rolled him up from behind and grabbed a handful of tight! The referee almost came down for three before he caught it and stopped. Hirano and the referee argued as West started to stand. Hirano quickly took him down with Saigo no Jōsha [Last Ride] (Fisherman Driver)! Hirano looked for a cover and put his feet on the second ropes for leverage and the referee didn’t even attempt to count. Hirano got up and shouted at him in Japanese before turning. West was up and hit him with a Come-To-Jesus Moment (Haymaker Punch) West considered covering but pulled him up and hit the Baptism (Cradle Piledriver) for good measure before covering and picking up the pinfall.
WINNER AND NEW SPARTAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER: Martin West
West started to exit as the Spartan Champion, Melody Slayton, made her way to the ramp and showed off the title around her waist before we cut away for a promo for Next Level: Victorem.
IF CASEY GREY WINS, SHE’S ADDED TO THE WORLD TITLE MATCH
AJ Adams Vs. Casey Grey
Scott Parker: Here we go, Gemma! AJ and Casey are finally going at it in our main event tonight!
Gemma Foster: There’s a lot at stake and you know our World Champion is somewhere watching on.
Adams and Grey were in the ring as they just stared each other down. After the bell sounded these two rushed at each other and the crowd went wild as they unloaded blows on each other before it spilled out of the ring and to the floor. The two fought all around the ring as the referee tried to get them back into the ring. Adams bounced Grey off the announce table but Grey came right back and pushed Adams face first into the post on the outside!
Gemma Foster: No love between these two!
Grey rolled Adams into the ring and jumped onto a cover for just one. Adams got to his feet and was hit with a dropkick to the knee. His face planted into the mat and started to stand but was taken down with a swinging neckbreaker. The former EW World Champion kept on the attack as she drove a knee into his kidney. She went to the second rope and jumped, driving a knee into his kidney again. Adams started to stand and she took him down with her Copperhead Road (Cobra Clutch/Single Knee Backstabber). Grey covered and Adams was able to kick out at two. Adams had to block punches and was able to hit a forearm to the face. A quick snap suplex from Adams had Grey disorientated enough for him to lift her up and hit the Rough Landing (Kneecap Brainbuster)! Adams was fired up as he pounded his chest and made motion for the title around his waist.
Scott Parker: Adams is ready for Next Level: Ascension!
Adams pulled Grey up and sent her into the corner hard. He followed it up with a big clothesline and then pulled her out for a swinging neckbreaker. Adams went for a cover for just little more than one before Grey kicked out. Grey was up and was able to hit Adams with a kick to the gut. She looked for a lariat but Adams ducked and hit LA to NY (Sitout inverted DDT). Adams tried to quickly pull Grey up and into position for the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail) but she was able to slip free and rolled out of the ring to regroup. Adams looked around and started to nod as he charged and looked for a tope suicida but Grey hit him with the Breath Mint (Forearm Smash)! Grey pulled Adams up and delivered the GTO (Fisherman Driver) on the outside! Grey pulled Adams up and got him into the ring at around a seven count. She went into a cover and the crowd popped as Adams kicked out at two. Grey couldn’t believe it and made sure to ask the referee it wasn’t three.
Gemma Foster: AJ Adams somehow is able to kick out after eating the GTO on the floor.
Adams started to get to his feet and Grey quickly tried to pull him down with the Bitch Muzzle (Crossface Submission). Adams fought and struggled, not allowing Grey to lock it in. He was still on his feet as she tried to pull him down but he turned and hit the Last Call (Codebreaker)! Both competitors were down and slow to get up but Adams was up first. He grabbed Grey as she started to stand and started to lock in Lights Out (Tazzmission)! Grey was able to get into the ropes and caused a break. Adams tried to rush her but Grey lifted him up and over the top to the apron. Grey turned and hit him with the Breath Mint! Adams went falling back and fell to the floor. Grey climbed to the apron and jumped at him but he caught her and delivered a spinebuster on the announce table! Grey gasped as the table didn’t break but she held onto him and locked in a Kimura Arm Lock! Adams punched Grey to get her to break as he rolled onto the announce table. Grey hit him with a lariat as he sat up on the table and she stood beside it.
Scott Parker: This isn’t looking good out here!
Grey quickly rolled in and out of the ring and tried to get Adams to stay down as he rolled off the table. She hit a suplex that bounced him off the table and to the other side. She climbed back inside as he crawled to the ring, grabbing at his back. He started to use the ropes to pull himself to the apron but was stuck. Just out of sight from the referee, Alicia Monroe was halfway out from under the ring hold both legs of Adams! Adams couldn’t get loose and the referee got to ten!

Monroe scurried away as Adams got into the ring in disbelief. Grey was halfway up the ramp as she smirked on. Adams grabbed a microphone and started to pace around the ring.

Newsflash, it doesn’t matter if you’re in the match at Next Level: Victorem or not because I’m still going to walk out the new Empire Wrestling World Champion. I will stop at nothing-

West started to exit as the Spartan Champion, Melody Slayton, made her way to the ramp and showed off the title around her waist before we cut away for a promo for Next Level: Victorem.

AJ Adams Vs. Casey Grey
Scott Parker: Here we go, Gemma! AJ and Casey are finally going at it in our main event tonight!
Gemma Foster: There’s a lot at stake and you know our World Champion is somewhere watching on.
Adams and Grey were in the ring as they just stared each other down. After the bell sounded these two rushed at each other and the crowd went wild as they unloaded blows on each other before it spilled out of the ring and to the floor. The two fought all around the ring as the referee tried to get them back into the ring. Adams bounced Grey off the announce table but Grey came right back and pushed Adams face first into the post on the outside!
Gemma Foster: No love between these two!
Grey rolled Adams into the ring and jumped onto a cover for just one. Adams got to his feet and was hit with a dropkick to the knee. His face planted into the mat and started to stand but was taken down with a swinging neckbreaker. The former EW World Champion kept on the attack as she drove a knee into his kidney. She went to the second rope and jumped, driving a knee into his kidney again. Adams started to stand and she took him down with her Copperhead Road (Cobra Clutch/Single Knee Backstabber). Grey covered and Adams was able to kick out at two. Adams had to block punches and was able to hit a forearm to the face. A quick snap suplex from Adams had Grey disorientated enough for him to lift her up and hit the Rough Landing (Kneecap Brainbuster)! Adams was fired up as he pounded his chest and made motion for the title around his waist.
Scott Parker: Adams is ready for Next Level: Ascension!
Adams pulled Grey up and sent her into the corner hard. He followed it up with a big clothesline and then pulled her out for a swinging neckbreaker. Adams went for a cover for just little more than one before Grey kicked out. Grey was up and was able to hit Adams with a kick to the gut. She looked for a lariat but Adams ducked and hit LA to NY (Sitout inverted DDT). Adams tried to quickly pull Grey up and into position for the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail) but she was able to slip free and rolled out of the ring to regroup. Adams looked around and started to nod as he charged and looked for a tope suicida but Grey hit him with the Breath Mint (Forearm Smash)! Grey pulled Adams up and delivered the GTO (Fisherman Driver) on the outside! Grey pulled Adams up and got him into the ring at around a seven count. She went into a cover and the crowd popped as Adams kicked out at two. Grey couldn’t believe it and made sure to ask the referee it wasn’t three.
Gemma Foster: AJ Adams somehow is able to kick out after eating the GTO on the floor.
Adams started to get to his feet and Grey quickly tried to pull him down with the Bitch Muzzle (Crossface Submission). Adams fought and struggled, not allowing Grey to lock it in. He was still on his feet as she tried to pull him down but he turned and hit the Last Call (Codebreaker)! Both competitors were down and slow to get up but Adams was up first. He grabbed Grey as she started to stand and started to lock in Lights Out (Tazzmission)! Grey was able to get into the ropes and caused a break. Adams tried to rush her but Grey lifted him up and over the top to the apron. Grey turned and hit him with the Breath Mint! Adams went falling back and fell to the floor. Grey climbed to the apron and jumped at him but he caught her and delivered a spinebuster on the announce table! Grey gasped as the table didn’t break but she held onto him and locked in a Kimura Arm Lock! Adams punched Grey to get her to break as he rolled onto the announce table. Grey hit him with a lariat as he sat up on the table and she stood beside it.
Scott Parker: This isn’t looking good out here!
Grey quickly rolled in and out of the ring and tried to get Adams to stay down as he rolled off the table. She hit a suplex that bounced him off the table and to the other side. She climbed back inside as he crawled to the ring, grabbing at his back. He started to use the ropes to pull himself to the apron but was stuck. Just out of sight from the referee, Alicia Monroe was halfway out from under the ring hold both legs of Adams! Adams couldn’t get loose and the referee got to ten!

Monroe scurried away as Adams got into the ring in disbelief. Grey was halfway up the ramp as she smirked on. Adams grabbed a microphone and started to pace around the ring.

Newsflash, it doesn’t matter if you’re in the match at Next Level: Victorem or not because I’m still going to walk out the new Empire Wrestling World Champion. I will stop at nothing-
The lights went out as the crowd buzzed and when they came up, Santos was standing behind Adams with her face fully painted. He turned and she delivered Beso de Muerte ([Kiss of Death] Dream DDT)! We ended the show as Santos stood over Adams with the title over her head as she looked up to Grey on the ramp.
