Episode 2 - January 29, 2021
The intro plays, the lights come up, and the pyro goes off! We swing the camera around the socially-distanced crowd in attendance, along with the electronic panels of viewers watching around the world, before the cameras settle on the announce team of Alison James and Liam Stewart.
Alison James: Welcome, one and all, to BWF Legacy! Starting tonight, we're kicking off a return to weekly programs with shorter run-times, meaning less of a wait to see your favorite BWF wrestlers!
Liam Stewart: That's right, Ali. Tonight, we've got two more Happenstance Tournament qualifying matches, as former Happenstance Queen Zoe Cooper goes for her second crown in what is sure to be a brutal match with Jaxon Taylor, while newcomer Vasuki challenges former BWF World Champ Gabe Shelley for the right to compete in the tournament as well!
Alison James: Plus, in the evening's main event, we have a return match from Legacy #1, where Kasey Kash shocked us all by dethroning Stutterfly -
Liam Stewart: - your sister -
Alison James: They KNOW, Liam. Yes, it's Stutterfly, my SISTER, one on one versus Kasey Kash in a rematch for the Revolution X Championship!
The Start: There is no handshake between the two though Gabe offers up his hand. Vasuki begins to warn him of the impending loss headed his direction! He doesn’t seem bothered by the words.
The Match: The two lock up but Vasuki turns it around in her favor quickly with stiff kicks to Gabe's midsection. He tries to gain some distance but she catches him in a wrist lock. He breaks the hold with a surprising headbutt! Vasuki is stunned, having to stumble away while Gabe hypes up the ground! He follows this up with Giga Impact! Vasuki does not take kindly to either attack, getting up with a scream. She knocks him off his center with a spear, then wraps Gabe up in a triangle choke! Even with a fade, Gabe manages to break the hold and get some separation between the two. Vasuki gives chase and attempts to lock him back up!
The Finish: Gabe is fast on his feet with a Bright Lights to stop any momentum Vasuki had! With a 1, 2, 3, the former World Champion is moving on to Happenstance!
WINNER: Gabe Shelley, via Pinfall
The Aftermath: Gabe's music cuts out as he grabs a mic.
Gabe Shelley: Tonight, the Shelleys celebrate! I beat whoever the heck this chick is and my wife is going to get back the Revolution X Title that Kasey Chump STOLE from her! Then, at Happenstance, I'm going to win the tournament, and together, we'll become the only husband and wife team to have ever both held the crown! You're looking at WRESTLING ROYALTY, people... and at Happenstance, that crown is going to make it official!
Gabe's music kicks back in as he tosses the mic, chuckles at Vasuki and exits the ring, already practicing his royal wave as the crowd boos.
A New Champ for a New Era
The camera comes into focus on the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling view of the Toronto skyline. Dawn's clearly just breaking as the scene remains focused on that for a few moments. Finally, it pans out to reveal Nessa Wall, sitting alone in the middle of an empty room with vaulted ceilings and exposed ductwork. She's facing that spectacular view and when the sun breaks through fully, it flashes off the BWF World Championship sitting in her lap. As the room behind her brightens, it becomes clear that it's an empty loft apartment – just this giant open space. She moves the championship slightly so it's not reflecting off the window and blinding her, running her fingers over the raised lettering absently.
Nessa Wall: I don't think any of you understand how much this means to me. How hard these past couple years have been and how difficult it was to even come back to social media, let alone a wrestling ring. When I heard BWF was staging a revival, though… it felt like a sign.
She lifts the belt, hugging it to her chest as she continues speaking.
Nessa Wall: I can't begin to thank Emily enough for taking a chance, for allowing me to come back into the company that meant so much to me over the years. I got my first big break in the BWF, my first taste of primetime wrestling when I truly began to branch out on my own. Sure, there were other places, other championships along the way – none really held a candle to the one I first coveted most.
She looks down at the belt, a bittersweet smile on her lips. Letting out a soft little laugh, she shakes her head ruefully.
Nessa Wall: Almost exactly six years to the day when I held my first BWF championship, I claimed this. I get to be the inaugural champion for the new era – I don't take that lightly in the least. I want to prove that I deserve this. That every fork in the road, every disaster along the way was meant to prepare me for this next leg of the journey.
She falls silent for a moment, staring at that beautiful view.
Nessa Wall: I promise, I won't let you down.
The Start: Jaxon appears to ignore Zoe completely. An aura of authority over her as if the match was already won for him. Zoe seems very amused by his hubris. They exchange a few quick words before the bell rings.
The Match: Zoe is the first one to get a hit in, with a swift kick to Jaxon. She evades an explosive clothesline, but can not get away from Face Meet BOOT! The two of them play a close call match of cat and mouse with Zoe retaliating with Kicking It Old School that rocks Jaxon! Whatever he seems to hit Zoe with, she gives a powerful rebuttal!
The Finish: Despite how evenly matched they seem to be it ends with Jaxon Smash, a clothesline that connects and knocks Zoe down… 1...2...3…!
WINNER: Jaxon Taylor, via Pinfall
The Aftermath: Jaxon celebrates his huge victory, gloating over the fallen former Happenstance Queen as he motions for gold.
Liam Stewart: Jaxon Taylor just called his shot; he's already claiming ultimate victory in the 2021 Happenstance Tournament!
Alison James: The Tournament is famous for creating some of BWF's biggest stars - including Zoe Cooper, the woman he just beat! Come February 26, we could very well be looking at the next King of BWF!
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
The Start: Pending a lawsuit from Johnny Maverick there are no masked or hooded figures at ringside and this Revolution X title match is announced as a falls count anywhere match.
The Match: Okay so this match is ridiculous. These two fight each other all over the arena and security does the best to keep the crowd socially distant from these two, both determined to beat the tar out of each other. Katie seems to be keeping the upper hand quite well, relying on veteran experience to stay pretty firmly in the driver seat for much of the match but Kasey gets in some great shots of his own. Katie gets a two-count with a Bleeding Rose (Sliced Bread #2) and seems frustrated that it doesn’t put Kasey away.
The Finish: Ultimately this match ends up in the parking garage. Katie tries to irish whip Kasey into a parked car but Kasey manages to hop up and push his momentum the other way off of the bumper of the car and catches Katie with the Canberra Collapse (Springboard cutter) off of the car! This is swiftly followed up with the Aussie Knee Party (Shining Wizard) and the pinfall win for Kasey in the parking garage.
WINNER AND STILL BWF REVOLUTION X CHAMPION: Kasey Kash, via Pinfall
The Aftermath: Kasey briefly celebrates with his title but ultimately decides he should probably book it before the owner of that car gets back.
Alison James: In a chaotic finish, Kasey Kash proves his win two weeks ago was no fluke by once again besting Stutterfly to retain the Revolution X Championship!
Liam Stewart: Somewhere, The Crimson Ghost is watching, and you know he's ready for his shot at the 'big red belt'.
Alison James: Indeed he is, Liam. That's it for us tonight, folks... we'll see you all next week on a brand new edition of Legacy! Good night from Milwaukee!
We see one final shot of Kasey Kash making his way out of the arena with the Revolution X Title before the cameras fade to the UWA logo, then to black.
