Personal History:
Minka was born on May 12, 1994 to a well to do family in Cincinnati, Ohio... or so she thought. In reality, she was born to two Costa Rican immigrants that were the housekeepers of the Carter family, a rich family with a ton of successful business investments. The name she was given at birth is unknown, but the unfortunate deportation of her birth parents resulted in the Carters adopting her as a favor to them and she was given the name of Minka Valerie Carter.
She was certainly different from the rest of the family which made her an outcast and resulted in her being treated differently (worse) than everyone else as she was seen, more or less, as a stepchild and nothing more with the brunt of the chores placed on her. In 2009, when she was 15 years old, her eldest stepsister Candice made an investment in a professional wrestling company, becoming the general manager of the brand. This was what first drew Minka to wrestling. However, she didn't want to be involved in the business side... she wanted to be involved in the ring... much to the chagrin of her "family" who wanted to control every bit of her life from what she'd do doing her adulthood, arranging a marriage for her and destroying every bit of fun she could have.
This didn't deter her as she secretly started training in 2012 when she turned 18. The identity of this secret trainer is still unknown, but her first signing to an Indy company a year later shocked her "family"... though they reluctantly invested in her career, at least at first. She became a very strong Indy wrestler causing her to be signed by XWA in early 2017, which didn't go well at first and she had to leave for a few months, but when she returned, she became more aggressive... and developed a really horrible tendency to hurt people as she returned with anger and having fallen to her own insecurities caused by said upbringing. While she did improve, she also became hated and she caused a lengthy reign of terror across XWA and IYH both... which would last until the end of 2018 when she lost to her then-nemesis (and future friend and tag team partner) AJ Morales in a Hellmouth match that finally freed her from her darkness.
2019 turned out to be a very fruitful year as a result as she went from succumbing to her insecurities to overcoming them and inspiring legions of fans wherever she goes, becoming the Survival Champion in Evolution Wrestling, tag team champions with AJ Morales in XWA and... in her greatest accomplishment to date... winning the prestigious XWA Lord of the Ring tournament.
Of course, 2019 is just the start of the prime of her career. As one of the rising stars of the business today (against and despite all odds), she was looking to break the glass ceiling all while serving as an inspiration for those underprivileged just like she was at one point.
2020 began the start of the #MainEventMinka campaign, but it got off to a rough start with her career on the verge of floundering in Australia. She would make her way to IBW, but even then, while she made the final four of their Survival tournament, she hadn't hit her stride yet. She would then win the IBW Collision Championship from Jon Jrygin and wind up with the longest reign in the title's history. Still, Minka felt unaccomplished and hadn't felt like she was going anywhere with her 'underdog' schtick. In early 2021, she turned heel again assaulting Kai Morgan at IBW's "Heart of Wrestling" event. In the meantime, she had joined 5BW and won their Freedom Championship ever since ditching her old 'inspirational underdog' shtick that she was doing before. The "campaign" still continues to this day with Minka hoping to finally reach the heights she has starved to reach for many years.
