Episode 1 - January 15, 2021
The intro plays, the lights come up, and the pyro goes off! We swing the camera around the socially-distanced crowd in attendance, along with the electronic panels of viewers watching around the world, before the cameras settle on the announce team of Alison James and Liam Stewart.
Alison James: It's the start of a NEW ERA tonight, Liam! Havok has officially been retired after eighteen years - tonight is the beginning of a brand new Legacy, live from the House of Blazenwing in Milwaukee!
Liam Stewart It's our first show under the UWA brand, and good god, is it going to be an action packed one! The first three Happenstance Tournament Qualifying Matches will take place, Stutterfly puts the Revolution X Championship on the line against the man who nearly became Sovereign Champ at Finish Line, Kasey Kash, the 2 Broke Chicks battle the Freaks With Benefits, and in our main event, two longtime rivals and new titleholders will face off once again, as International Champion AJ Adams goes mano-e-womano against our new BWF World Champion, Nessa Wall!
Alison James: Speaking of champions, let's kick things off with our first-ever Legacy match; the Revolution X Title is on the line!
Before the match participants make their way to the ring, the Rev-X Roulette spins on the Tron, settling on... a Ladder Match!
The Start: Early on in the match, Stutterfly keeps Kasey on his toes. She's very familiar with acrobatics and ladders, and she isn't afraid to show him exactly what she can do with them. However, Stutterfly does seem to underestimate Kasey at first, and using this to his advantage, he slowly begins turning the tables on the Champion.
The Match: Ringside, Gabe Shelley does his best to keep things tipped in Stutterfly's favor, but during a critical moment late in the match when Stutterfly and Kasey are duking it out high atop a ladder, he makes a crucial mistake. Gabe attempts to get behind Stutterfly and lift her up on his shoulders to reach the belt, but, caught up in the brawl with Kasey, she doesn't realize he's undeneath her. When Gabe lifts her up, it distracts her just long enough for Kasey to grab her by the hair and slam her face down with force into the top rung of the ladder, causing her to fall off of Gabe's shoulders and all the way to the mat below.
The End: Realizing what just happened, Gabe scrambles up the ladder himself to try to stop Kasey from retrieving the belt, but he's too late; Kash pulls down the title and the bell sounds!
WINNER AND NEW BWF REVOLUTION X CHAMPION: Kasey Kash
The Aftermath: "RestInPeace" by Bones plays as Kash drops off the ladder and quickly exits the ring with the title, evading the husband of the now former Champ. Gabe kneels down next to Stutterfly and tries desperately to explain what just happened as she slowly comes to, glaring at both Gabe and Kasey. Alison questions if this loss might shake some sense into her sister.
The Start: The 2021 Happenstance Tournament kicked off (quite literally) with a shocker. The bell rang, Kalua and Sky charged at one another.
The Match: Anaru went for a clothesline, Billie ducked and kept running, rebounding off the ropes. Kalua did the same, and this time, Billie leapt up and caught the former Sovereign Champion with The Purge! (Shining Wizard)
The End: Billie covered... 1, 2, 3! In lightning-quick fashion, the 'Reckoning' truly had arrived!
WINNER: Billie Sky, via Pinfall
The Aftermath: "Haunted" by DIAMANTE played as Billie Sky hopped to her feet and celebrated, almost not quite believing it herself. Alison and Liam discuss the craziness of what they just witnessed - and Liam declares Billie Sky the future Happenstance Queen - before Legacy cuts to commercial.
The Start: Johnny Maverick walks to the ring with a seriousness not normally seen from the competitor; certainly not during his brief foray as a 'Candy Boy 2000'. He wants the BWF World Title and he's ready to earn his shot. Meanwhile, Oceania looks determined to make up for her debut loss at Finish Line and show the UWA-BWF fans what she's all about.
The Match: The two tied up, with Johnny quickly taking point and taking over the contest. Oceania fought back, even upending the former Crisis World Champion a few times, but the look of pure focus never leaves Johnny's face. No matter how many times Oceania gets a good shot in, or scores a near fall, Johnny never breaks his concentration and always manages to get the momentum back.
The End: During a flurrious closing sequence, Oceania ducks under a Third Eye Opener (Ripcord Bicycle Knee Strike) and comes back with a Tidal Wave (Sweet Chin Music). For a moment, she looks to have connected... but no, Johnny caught her leg at the last possible second! With Oceania trapped, Johnny shifts from her leg to her arm in an instant, connects with the Prelude to Perfection (Jumping Double Knee Armbreaker), immediately followed up by The Perfect Armbar (Double Underhook Suplex floated over into a Cross Armbreaker)! Oceania tries to escape, but she has nowhere to go and has no choice but to tap out!
WINNER: Johnny Maverick, via Submission
The Aftermath: Johnny has his arm raised, but the look he's had since he walked through the curtain - one of absolute clarity and focus - is still etched across his face. Liam declares Johnny Maverick the future Happenstance King.
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
The Start: High off his victory at Finish Line (and probably off other stuff too, to be honest), Switchblxde enters this match with a degree of swagger; something his opponent, who failed to win her match at the same event, is currently lacking. They tie up, and it's clear from the offset that Switchblxde isn't taking this match seriously, which only serves to anger the former International Champion.
The Match: At a certain point, something clicks with Talia and suddenly, she's operating on a whole other level. Switchblxde, coming from a storied wrestling family himself, has no interest in being shown up and realizes that maybe this match wouldn't be as easy as he thought it might be. The two battle, growing more ferocious by the moment, each scoring several near falls as the match reaches its apex. The crowd in attendance begins a "This is awesome" chant as Switchblxde and Talia dig deeper and deeper.
The End: Ultimately, only one competitor can move on in this tournament, and as it has so many times in the past, it came down to who made the first vital mistake. After leaving Talia prone, Switchblxde heads to the top rope and comes off with a huge Dumpster Dive (Diving Senton Bomb), but at the last moment, Talia gets her knees up, driving them deep into Switchblxde's back. As he reels in pain, Talia rolls Switchblxde up and scores the three count and the win!
WINNER: Talia Areano, via Pinfall
The Aftermath: Talia is excited, taking a victory lap as she celebrates her win. She holds one finger up in the air, likely symbolizing the fact that she's one victory closer to earning a shot at the World Title she covets. Liam declares Talia Areano the future Happenstance Queen. Alison sighs.
The Start: Clearly deflated over their loss at Finish Line, the Freaks entered this match looking, frankly, lost, if not a bit forlorn. The 2 Broke Chicks, however, had a new fire lit under them following their own loss at the pay-per-view; and they showed up ready to move forward with a big victory.
The Match: This gulf between the two teams only continues to grow as the match drags on, with the Chicks showcasing their tag team abilities. They scored a handful of near-falls on the former champs, and while the Freaks did fight back, it was obvious that the passion was missing.
The End: With the Freaks struggling to keep up, it isn't long before the 2 Broke Chicks manage to break them down. After knocking Krista May off of the apron, the Chicks get Kayla up, hit the Pay Day (Doomsday Destroyer; Jane lifts, Chiaki hits the Destroyer) and cover her for the win.
WINNERS: 2 Broke Chicks, via Pinfall
The Aftermath: The 2 Broke Chicks celebrate their definitive victory over the former BWF Tag Champs. Backstage, we see the current Champs, Drake Connors and Hayato Sagara-Connors, watching the match on a monitor. They discuss what they just witnessed inaudibly before walking off-screen.
The Start: AJ Adams and Nessa Wall do not like each other. They've both made this clear on more than one occasion, and this match is yet another opportunity for them to air their grievances with one another in between the ropes.
The Match: From moment one, the referee in this one had zero control over the match. AJ and Nessa wasted no time tearing into one another. Very little wrestling actually occurred, as it seemed likely that one might injure the other before the end of this match.
The End: AJ and Nessa took their fight to the outside of the ring, over the barricade, back into the ringside area, onto the ramp... you name it, they punched each other on or in it. After trying in vain to get them back inside the ring, the referee finally started a count that neither competitor had any interest in breaking up. The ten count finishes, the ref calls for the bell, and the fight continues.
WINNER: Double Countout
The Aftermath: Even after the bell rings, these two competitors keep going at one another. When one referee fails to break it up, another joins. And another. Eventually, the locker room empties to break up the brawl between Champions. As Alison and Liam discuss what we're witnessing, the first episode of Legacy goes off the air with AJ Adams and Nessa Wall still trying to beat the living hell out of one another.
