Episode #77 - July 24, 2021
The show opened with clips of Next Level: Victorem that showed Nessa Wall winning the Victorem Ladder match as she pulled down the briefcase with a World Championship match contract inside. The clips then took us to see Casey Grey taking on AJ Adams in the main event where she eventually forced him to tap out to retain the EW World Championship.
We came live to the Warehouse with pyro and a packed house.
Gio DeLuca Open Challenge
- The show kicked off with Gio DeLuca ranting in the ring about being left off the Next Level: Victorem card. He said he could beat anyone in the back in a straight up one on one match. He’s tired of Sara Logan looking over him and has issued an open challenge to anyone who could hear his voice.
- The opening riffs of “Sabotage” by Cancer Bats started to play as the lights flashed and the fans were confused as DeLuca looked up at the stage. The song continued to play as it made it through the first verse and at :53 seconds the crowd erupted in roars of cheers as Johnny Maverick stepped out in his wrestling gear. He raised his hand up to his mouth and put in his “PUNCH HERE” mouth guard and started to make his way to the ring.
- Maverick rolled into the ring and stood as his music died down. Gio DeLuca laughed into his microphone and told Johnny to “Never give up” and held the microphone up and told him to finish his catchphrase. Maverick just stood there and watched DeLuca. DeLuca told him to “ask if we can dig it, Johnny”. DeLuca continued to poke fun at Maverick before Maverick pulled him in with a collar and elbow tie up and started to drive his knee into the gut of DeLuca.
- DeLuca gasped for air after the third or fourth knee to his gut and Maverick put an elbow down to the back of the head as DeLuca was bent over. Maverick then hit a dragon suplex and quickly rolled to his feet.
- DeLuca stumbled to his feet and into the corner before Maverick charged and hit a big lifting knee to the face before delivering an overhead belly to belly suplex out of the corner.
- Maverick pounded his chest as DeLuca stood and struck Gio with the OF!MF! ( Running Shotei strike to the face) and then slipped behind him before he could fall. Maverick lifted DeLuca onto his shoulders and dropped him with Dan Severn’s Mustache (Electric Chair into high angle bridging German Suplex)!
- The open challenge quickly came to a close after that as Maverick pulled DeLuca up and held him up by his hair. Maverick flashed his mouthguard before locking in the Perfect Armbar (Double Underhook Suplex floated over into Cross Armbreaker)! DeLuca immediately started to tap out!
WINNER: Johnny Maverick via submission @ 3:34
Maverick got to his feet and jumped onto the middle turnbuckle and shouted “CAN YOU DIG IT” through his mouthguard as the fans roared.
We got a shot backstage of Angel Kash and Summer Page pounding on the door to Sara Logan’s office, shouting over each other in anger from Next Level, demanding for Logan to be fired. The door opened and Logan’s assistant opened the door as the Social Elite burst into the room, only to find it empty. The assistant handed Page a letter that said “Sorry I missed you, xoxo, Sara”.
Kasey Kash Vs. Alicia Monroe
- The new Extreme Champion, Kasey Kash, was set for singles action against a former National Champion, Alicia Monroe. Monroe opened things by tackling Kash into a corner and landing blows to his sides.
- Kash was able to battle out with hard blows to the back of Monroe and then flipping over her back. Monroe charged into an arm drag from Kash.
- Monroe started to hammer Kash with hard forearms to the face and he just smiled and ate them. Kash hit Monroe with an uppercut and then drove her to the mat with a flatliner.
- Monroe continued to charge Kash and this time he was able to duck a lariat and looked for a German suplex. Monroe flipped backwards and landed on her feet before taking Kash down with a swinging neckbreaker.
- Monroe went into a cover but barely got two. She pulled Kash up and had him ready for Freebird (Running Bulldog) but Kash was able to counter into a blue thunder bomb.
- Kash had control of the match and tried to tire out Monroe with quick strikes and suplexes. She started to battle back and sent him into the ropes but he countered with Canberra Collapse (Springboard Cutter). He rolled her into a cover and got a two before she kicked out.
- Kash went to the top rope and looked for a swanton bomb and Monroe got her knees up into his back. She rolled him up with an Oklahoma roll for a two count.
- Both competitors got to their feet and Monroe looked for a neckbreaker but Kash countered into a ripcord bicycle knee strike! Monroe dropped to a knee and he rocked her with the Aussie Knee Party (Shining Wizard) before covering for the pinfall.
WINNER: Kasey Kash via pinfall @ 12:53
Kash celebrated after the match with the Extreme Championship as he made his way to the back.
Give Them a Reason
After a break we went to the ring where Sara Logan stood with microphone in hand. The fans booed her as she started to speak.
Sara Logan: I’ve been the liaison for the Empire Wrestling management for quite some time now and since taking this job I’ve tried to be nothing but fair. Yet, for months I’ve been bullied by the likes of the Social Elite’s Page and Kash, by Gio DeLuca, by Casey Grey. They believe in some sort of conspiracy against them and have taken every chance to ruin my good name.
Logan’s face turns serious as she looks right into the camera.
Sara Logan: No more. You want a reason to hate me? You got it. I have the ability to make your life a living hell. I made sure the Social Elite didn’t leave Next Level: Victorem with the Tag Team Championships and I can make sure you don’t leave with the World Championship, Casey. David Slayton is going to get his opportunity at the World Championship… but I’ll be fair. David will earn his match over the next couple weeks but, I promise you, Casey… If you provoke me I will make this a lot harder for you than it needs to be.
Logan went to leave the ring and Summer Page and Angel Kash appeared on the stage. They started to make their way to the ring and were attacked from behind by Kaito Hirano and Jason Evans! Dishonor brawled with the Social Elite as Sara Logan snuck off to the back as we went to a commercial.
COMING SOON TO THE UWA FAMILY
We came back from commercial with an advert promoting Nessa Wall addressing the fans and Casey Grey LIVE, in the Warehouse, on the 7/31 episode of Hype!
Dishonor (Jason Evans & Kaito Hirano) Vs. Hanako & Austin Scott
- The referees were able to get things under control and get the Social Elite to the back as it was time for the next match. Hanako came quickly at Hirano as we were set to start the tag match.
- Hanako took Hirano down with a slingblade and popped to her feet. She went to run the ropes and Evans grabbed her by the hair and pulled her down to the mat.
- This allowed Hirano to take advantage as Scott jumped off the apron and went to attack Evans. The two started to brawl around the ring as the referee threatened to toss the match. They broke and Scott jumped to the apron before Hirano hit him with a running kick to the face!
- Evans and Hirano made a series of tags in and out to stay fresh as they started to work over Hanako. Evans looked for a roundhouse kick and Hanako did the splits and ducked it before hitting him with a hard punch to the gut.
- Hanako came off the second ropes with a springboard tornado DDT. She made a tag to Scott and he hit Evans with Straight Whiskey (Running Lariat).
- Scott set Evans up for the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver) but Hirano pulled his partner off the shoulders of Scott. Scott turned and was hit with a tornado kick!
- Hanako jumped into the ring and speared Hirano! Evans started to pull Hanako up but she caught him with an elbow to the face and Scott delivered another Straight Whiskey.
- Scott tagged in Hanako and she jumped to the top rope and came down with Geito (Starship pain) and covered Evans for a win!
WINNER: Hanako & Austin Scott via pinfall @ 14:31
After the match, Scott raised the hand of Hanako in victory but they were quickly attacked from behind by Hirano with a chair! Scott rolled Hanako out of the ring and was blasted with a shot across the back as Dishonor stood tall.
A quick advertisement for Next Level: Ascension aired with the date of 9/18/21.
We then got a quick “The BBs Return… NEXT HYPE!” advert.
Drag You Down
“We rise from the flames and the shattered wood. We pull ourselves together and wait for you to find us.”
The black screen pulls back to show us Manic sitting in a dark room. Candles are lit behind her as she tilts her head and grins.
Manic: Tia Santos. This path we are on ends with your blood being drawn and us being named the victor. Making you lose the championship you so loved was just the first step. Now, we drag you down to insanity.
Manic starts to laugh as the candles go out and we fade to black.
Kayla Taylor Vs. Meg Coleman
- It was main event time and we got a shot of National Champion Danny Rose watching backstage.
- Taylor landed the first few strikes before the two locked up. Coleman powered Taylor off her feet and on to the mat and unloaded hard right hands before jumping up.
- Taylor got to her feet and Coleman hit a big spear!
- Coleman pulled Taylor up and Taylor fought back with a kick to the gut. Taylor was able to lift Coleman up and dropped her with a Michinoku Driver.
- Taylor went into a cover for just one as Coleman kicked out.
- Taylor looked for Plan A (Shining Wizard) but Coleman countered into a spinebuster. Coleman quickly pulled Taylor up and hit a big powerbomb and then rolled her backwards to her knees. Coleman then caught Taylor with a buzzsaw kick to the side of the head!
- Coleman rolled Taylor over for a cover and was able to get two. Taylor tried to get to her feet and Coleman charged. Taylor dropped down and pulled down the top rope as Coleman spilled up and over to the apron.
- Taylor kicked Coleman in the knee and she fell to the other on the apron. Taylor then hit the Stamp It Out (Superkick to opponent on knees) through the ropes and Coleman fell to the floor.
- Taylor went after Coleman and the two exchanged punches on the outside before Taylor bounced Coleman’s face off the apron. Taylor rolled her into the ring and climbed inside.
- Taylor grabbed Coleman as she stood and looked for Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes) but Coleman flipped up and was able to counter by bringing Taylor down with an armbar! Taylor was about to tap but was able to roll Coleman’s shoulders to the mat and got a two count.
- Taylor was pushed away as she pulled Coleman up and Coleman ducked a clothesline and ran the ropes before coming back with a Superwoman punch! Coleman covered and picked up the pinfall.
Coleman made the referee raise her hand in victory as she stood over Taylor to close the show.
